University of Chicago New Research Building 330,000 sf 11 story research laboratory with basement. The structural system consist of a reinforced concrete flat plate with beams and concrete columns and shear walls. Underground tunnel and two bridges provide connectivity to existing university facilities. Provided foundation design, including caisson and slurry wall design and construction documents. |

Kimmel Center of Performing Arts 5000 ton structural steel performing arts center with an exterior building that encompasses two interior structurally free-standing buildings. Provided connection engineering and erection engineering services to the steel fabricator and erector. |

Medical Office Building One story medical office building with a steel braced frame and column free interior. Long span roof joists are exposed as are the perimeter columns and bracing. Sustainable design includes a recessed slab on grade for mechanical distribution as well as an exposed structurally efficient steel system utilizing recycled steel and a light exterior system to allow maximum daylight into exterior spaces. Entry canopy is corten steel. Provided full services from conceptual design through construction administration. |

Greenworks Office and storage building with a steel braced frame designed as a LEED Gold building. Composite roof framing supports an intensive and extensive roof and greenhouse. The roof is supported on an exposed steel framing, columns and bracing. The column free exterior allows more light into the building and was achieved by cantilevering the roof framing. Design included an exposed ornamental steel solar panel entry canopy. |
